Snowflakes Touching Souls

August 19th, 2011

New Zealand is experiencing extreme weather at the moment and as snow has fallen in downtown Wellington for the first time in years – for many people this will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. Here’s a film of residents experiencing this. By using slow motion and the right music this film captures the way in which Nature can touch our souls with awe:

  1. We got snow a foot in Carterton in the Wairarapa, unfortunately the roads were too bad to go up to stonehenge and get photos. We did have a brilliant snowball fight at work (the boss was in Melbourne so if she asks we were all working really hard), made a big snowman and had a snowball fight. The gardens looked lovely and my dashund went a bit daft running around in it and lots of barking the falling snow.

    • A Snowflake in NZ!

Did you know that a snowflake is a mirror?
A tiny snowflake is a reflection of the human soul.
If you really look at the leaf of ice that lands on your palm you will see the creative design – a unique and beautiful pattern that is once only… it will never exist again in that form.
It is perfect and precious as it is.
It is like all other snow flakes, for it is made of the same substance. Yet it is unlike all others because it has its own special mark, like the finger prints on your hands…

So, when you next see the first few flakes of winter snow don’t just rush to thoughts of snowballs or stuck cars… think deeper…. Think first of your own uniqueness and then the uniqueness of every other human soul… and thank God/dess for your place within this remarkable world-wide family.
