One Tree Gathering 2016

March 30th, 2016

A warm invitation to the annual One Tree Gathering at Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire 20 – 21 August 2016

The One Tree project, also known as The One Tree Gathering, explores and celebrates the idea that Indian and European culture share a common origin. In particular, we are inspired by the thought that Celtic and Druid culture may share the same source as the Dharmic cultures of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Order members and friends have been meeting with members of the Dharmic communities since 2010.

The theme for our meeting this year is  ‘building the sacred bond between Hindus, Druids and Pagans’. During the weekend we will have lots of interactive times together, and we will be sharing the Hindu ritual of protection Raksha Bandhan, which sounds familiar to Pagans as we end up tying ribbon around/on trees and ourselves. There will be a bonfire on the Saturday night, a Night Walk, Hindu dancing, a treasure hunt in the woods, and more! If you want to reserve a place for this fully experiential weekend, then drop Keith Southall an email on  keith.southall@creativelandscapes.co.uk, and he will keep you updated, and will let you know once costs are finalised. For accommodation there is communal sleeping at Beaumanor Hall, and local B&B’s.
