In Times of Urgency Slow Down

August 16th, 2022

Here is the text I read during our meditation:

There is a place in the heart where everything meets.
Go there if you want to find me.
Mind, senses, soul, eternity, all are there.

Enter the bowl of vastness that is the heart.
Give yourself to it with total abandon.

Quiet ecstasy is there –
and a steady, regal sense of resting in a perfect spot.

Once you know the way
the nature of attention will call you
to return, again and again,
and be saturated with knowing,
“I belong here, I am at home here.”

from the 7th/8th century Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, known as the ‘Radiance Sutras’, interpreted and translated by Lorin Roche.

And here is the link I mentioned to an article by Bayo Akomolafe:

And a short film of him talking about this idea, and the importance of talking to trees and opening to the Celtic idea of ‘thin places’ :

  1. Excellent. I too feel the need to slow down. I sit with my horses and we just deep breathe together and w e listen to the trees , hearing the birds singing their healing songs to the branches and the trees. If you sit still enough one feels the earth turn actaully….. the liminal space is easy then to just slip into.

  2. I didn’t really know that I needed to slow down until just now. I entered a scared space that was once on a property that I owned in a different State from were I live now. It was so wonderful to be there again and didn’t know still just now how much I missed that place. It will be so nice to be able to return there now whenever I want. I left it a little over 11 years ago. Thank you
