as sites are multi-layered re: history, it is also interesting, too, in that when you walk into an old beech grove (and also re: some other species)… at certain times the branches are often shaped at the top as if a ‘pointed arch’…so perhaps the ‘Gothic arch’ is actually far older than many have previously assumed – !
Kingley vale takes a smaller carbon footprint to get to and could have been worked by a human hand too…., some old geezer gardener dude….
Tho’ I’ll visit when I’m next visitin’ there- awesome concept!
